Arap Şükrü street takes its name from Mr. Arap Şükrü Değişmez, born in 1893 in Thessaloniki-Greece. Şükrü Değişmez who has 5 sons and 3 daughter, is war-veteran in Independence War of Turkey at the age of 35.
After he returns to Bursa, he opens the first restaurants of this street.
